Roy Schwab has directed and performed in a host of theater productions, but in 2016 he will direct his first show with Lakeshore Productions, Inc. And it will be sort of a homecoming.
Schwab graduated from Random Lake High School in 1977, and he has many relatives still in the local area.
May 2016 will be his retirement date after 23 years of service in the Sheboygan Falls School District. Schwab began teaching at Lightfoot School in Falls in 1995, and in 2000 he moved over to Sheboygan Falls Elementary School, where he currently teaches grades one and two.
He has written or co-written and directed more than 50 youth musical theater productions.
Schwab made his acting debut with LPI two years ago with a major role in South Pacific. Now he will be directing Anything Goes.
"I chose Anything Goes for the 2016 LPI musical because it is one of the all-time great classic musicals," he states. "Anything Goes is complete with an unforgettable score by Cole Porter, amazing choreography with tap, lots of humor, surprising twists and turns throughout, and wonderful songs like "Bon Voyage," "Anything Goes," "I Get a Kick Out Of You" and "Blow, Gabriel Blow." It is one of my favorite musicals!"
Roy also looks forward to working with his son, Jacob, who will be the stage manager/assistant director. And Roy's brother, Mike Schwab, will be the set director.
