Rosie Alvarez: the girlfriend and secretary of Albert Peterson. She concocts the scheme to produce publicity for Albert with the intention of marrying him. Rosie is opinionated and strong-willed.
Conrad Birdie: Elvis-like character who is drafted into the army. He causes girls and women to faint with a swing of his hips.
Kim MacAfee: a 16-year-old girl who is picked to be kissed by Conrad Birdie before he joins the army. She is Hugo Peabody's girlfriend and the president of the Conrad Birdie Fan Club.
Harry MacAfee: Kim's father, who wrestles with the idea of his 16-year-old daughter kissing an older man on television. Harry is easily persuaded when fame is on the line.

Hugo Peabody: Kim's boyfriend. Hugo is very unsupportive of her high-profile kiss with Conrad.

Ursula Merkle: Kim's best friend. She is the most enthusiastic Conrad Birdie fan represented in the production.
Gloria Rasputin: a woman whom Albert's mother finds on the train to replace Rosie as secretary. She wants to get into show business.
