A note from the board: 2021 Reflection and Gratitude

Dear LPI Community,

As this whirlwind of a year winds down for the organization, we can’t help but reflect on our community and what we’ve been able to accomplish together- united under a passion to inspire children and adults through an inclusive space to dream, explore, think, and connect through theater. We have much to celebrate and be thankful for this year of resiliency, triumph, and a return to the stage for a fantastic 25th anniversary show.

Seeing the smiles of our cast and volunteers the first evening of summer 2021 auditions was an energizing light.  With the progression of summer we witnessed an amazing show come together for the 25th anniversary of our first show, The Wizard of Oz, on the Random Lake High School theater stage. Thank you to our Summer 2021 Director, Lizzie Riley, for stepping into the role and sharing your enthusiasm with our cast. I couldn’t be more proud of our cast and volunteers who continue to show up for our organization with countless hours of commitment and energy. We wouldn't be here without you and are forever grateful you choose to make magic on and off stage with us.  With people finally in seats and feeling the warmth of the lights illuminating the stage, it was clear we were back stronger than ever for our community.

LPI 25 year participant award recipients

Along with the learning, development, adaptations and growth of the last two years we’ve also grown as a board - in size and in strength. In October we welcomed new members to the Board of Directors at our annual meeting. We were excited to welcome Cherrie Deavers, Daniel Klingelhoets, Mary Ann Bichler, Penny Best,  Rhonda Kamenick, Robert Parker, and Shawna Halle to the LPI Board. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the momentum of this collective team in a few short months, and am excited for the highly impactful 2022 ahead as they continue to strengthen the work and impact of LPI for our greater Random Lake area.

LPI living nativity 2021

We were excited to present the 6th annual Living Nativity back in person at the Night of Lights hosted by the Random Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Lakeview Community Library. A favorite community tradition of LPI, we were thrilled to join our community for this special time of year. Kudos to LPI veteran cast member Tom Kamenick for directing this year’s production, as well as the cast and volunteers for their time and effort in this wonderful event.

And to our community, volunteers, and the Random Lake School District. We are forever grateful for the continued engagement, enthusiasm, and support. Thank you. Thank you for supporting our fundraising efforts and brat fries, promoting our productions via your businesses and workplaces, volunteering your time, and allowing us to be your neighbor.

Looking ahead to 2022, we are in the midst of selection of our Summer 2022 Director and will soon have updates to share. As a board, we will also be collaborating with the selected individual to bring you a 2022 show announcement early next year and can’t wait to see what’s to come.
