LPI Receives Awarded Grant From Kohler Foundation, Inc.

Kohler Foundation

Twice a year the Kohler Foundation Inc. accepts applications from non-profit and public organizations throughout Sheboygan County, to review and award grants up to $5000.  Due to the impacts of COVID-19 and the cancellation of our 25th anniversary show, LPI felt that fall of 2020 was a great time to throw our hat in the mix in hopes of securing one of these prestigious grants.  With the leadership of one of our board members, Bethanie Gist, we were fortunate enough to be one of the Kohler Foundation Inc.’s $2,500 grant recipients.

We at LPI strive to stay an all-inclusive theatre program while producing a high-quality musical theater production every summer.  While we also offer a holiday Living Nativity to be involved in, we make sure that we provide theatrical opportunities, on and off stage, for all, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or income.  With annual cast numbers nearing 100, and scores of volunteers working behind the scenes, we are proud to have introduced thousands to the magic of experiencing live theatre and the opportunity to perform or be involved behind the scenes.

We could not be more grateful to Kohler Foundation for awarding us with this generous grant of $2,500.  We could not be more excited to put this grant capital towards improving the overall theatre experience that we aim to provide every summer.  Whether it be using this grant to improve our costume department, help make capital improvements to our theater, or using this to further our reach deeper into underprivileged communities, we are thrilled and honored that Kohler Foundation awarded us with one of their Art grants.

LPI would lastly like to thank Kohler Foundation for all they do for the surrounding communities in Sheboygan County.  Without their generous grants, scholarships and work in the community, Sheboygan County would not have as much appreciation and support for the arts in our area as we do.
