Production Team Spotlight - Emily Fillinger - Music Director
Is this your first show with LPI? This is my first show with LPI, and I am so excited to be a part of this!!
What was the very first show that made you fall in love with theater? My very first show that made me fall in love with theater was my freshmen year of high school when I was in James and the Giant Peach. I loved the community of people, and it helped me grow in my confidence on stage.
If you had to describe your directing style in three words, what would they be? I would say I am motivated, compassionate, and enthusiastic!
Do you have a favorite role or production you’ve ever been part of? One of my favorite roles I’ve played was Catherine in Pippin. I loved it because the cast was great, the songs were fun and catchy, and the storyline had a deeper meaning behind it
What would your dream show be? Either as director, actor, or both! My dream show would have to be Les Misérables, either to play the role of Cosette or Éponine, I can’t decide between the two!!
Do you have any pre-show rituals, either as an actor or production team member? Pre-show rituals really depend on the cast, but I always love grabbing a chai tea beforehand with the cast.
Outside of theater, what hobbies or interests help you recharge? I love music, whether it’s playing the flute, singing, or teaching. I love going to the MSO and listening to symphonies with friends. I’ve also gotten into running recently! I am training for a half marathon in April which I am super pumped about!
What excites you most about working with our cast this summer? I am excited to be the vocal director and to hype up the cast and motivate them to do their best and have fun!
What is your day job? Currently my day job is working for Everdry Waterproofing on their tradeshow staff, and I am planning on continuing to do that and to work as a band teacher in the upcoming school year as well! I am graduating Concordia University Wisconsin in May with K-12 Music Education.
What's your favorite song from The Addams Family? My favorite song from The Addams Family is Pulled
Who is your favorite Addams Family character? My favorite Addams Family character would have to be Wednesday!
