Living Nativity

Lakeshore Productions Inc. welcomes you to be a part of a great Christmas tradition in Random Lake, The Living Nativity.  The Living Nativity is presented during Random Lake’s Night of Lights event on the evening of Friday, December 4th, 2026 at 6pm and 7pm at the OLL Parish Center (306 Butler St., Random Lake, WI 53075).  The Night of Lights includes special free family programming and activities at Lakeview Community Library and the Random Lake Historical Museum. 

We invite people of all blessings and talents to help tell the story of the true meaning of Christmas by joining us in our NEW, INDOOR production of The Living Nativity this year, directed by Alexia Birenbaum.  We are looking for a large cast of characters (from age 8 to adult) to help us share the wonderful story of the birth of Jesus.  Come one, come all!  Parents, please consider joining your child and becoming a part of the cast as well!  Characters needed include three Wise Men, Angels, Shepherds and Townspeople (Mary, Joseph and Gabriel have already been cast).  NOTE: This new, indoor performance will feature recorded narration with music (there will be no live singing or speaking).  **There is no previous performance experience necessary**

* REHEARSAL SCHEDULE *

All rehearsals and performances will be at the OLL Parish Center 306 Butler St., Random Lake, WI 53075)

Angels: all Sundays in November (1, 8, 15, 22, 29). 1pm-3pm.  It is understandable if Angels cannot attend all rehearsals, majority is preferred.  There will be choreography videos available to use for practice outside of rehearsals.

Mary, Joseph, Gabriel, Shepherds, Wise Men, Soldier, Townspeople: Sundays November 22 and 29 1pm-3pm

All cast: Full dress/tech Thursday December 3rd at 6pm

Performances: Friday December 4th 6pm and 7pm

Please see the list of characters and descriptions we are in-need of below. 

Angels (age 8+): if younger than 8 years old, please contact Alexia Birenbaum to discuss participation.  Angels will learn two dances and perform alongside each other and Mary and Joseph.

Shepherds (age 8+): if younger than 8 years old, please contact Alexia Birenbaum to discuss participation.  Shepherds have a simple role of walking in to greet the Holy Family and will learn small movements during two songs.

3 Wisemen (age 18+): Wisemen have a simple role of walking in to present their gifts to Jesus and will learn small hand movements to two songs.

Townspeople (age 10+): Townspeople will have a simple role of welcoming patrons into the event, mingling with Mary and Joseph in the performance, and passing out tambourines to the angels for the finale number.

Event Volunteer:  This production can't happen without the wonderful support of volunteers!  Jobs include: helping with refreshments, running lights, helping with costumes, helping younger cast members, etc.

For ten years now, Lakeshore Productions Inc. has been bringing the story of the birth of Christ to the Night of Lights event in Random Lake. We invite you to help tell the story of the true meaning of Christmas by joining us in our production of the Living Nativity this year.

The Living Nativity is presented twice during Random Lake’s Night of Lights event on the evening of Friday, December 6th, at 6:00 and 7:00 pm. The Night of Lights includes special free family programming and activities at Lakeview Community Library and the Random Lake Historical Museum.

We are looking for a large cast of characters (from age 7 to adult) to help us share this wonderful story of the birth of Jesus. Characters needed include Mary, Joseph, Innkeepers Simon and Martha (narrators of the story), Angel Gabriel, three Wise Men, Angels, and Shepherds.

Rehearsals for Lakeshore Productions Living Nativity will start in November. There will most likely be an ALL CAST onsite dress rehearsal on the evening of Thursday, December 5th. The performance site is across the street from the Historical Society/Kathy’s Trackside in Random Lake.
